[ Description ]
Our museum displays the two well-recognized and frequently experienced emotions—Fear and Hope—which are fundamental but crucial sensations in one's life.
The concept behind our museum is that periodically, due to the materialistic environment around us, people may become physically and emotionally restrained, losing awareness of who they are and their capacity for expressing emotions. In light of this, our museum provides a space where visitors can experience these two feelings free from the constraints of the material world.
Our museum includes a reception, a fear tunnel, and a hope hall. Where the journey starts from the reception area which leads the visitor to the fear hall. The entire tunnel is an enclosed space with narrow slits of light near the topmost edges of the side walls. The visitor will experience fear in this area because of the changing volumes, the height of the tunnel, and the darkness. They start walking away from the light as they begin their trek through the tunnel. Walking away from hope and descending into fear metaphorically. One moves along a path in the direction of the stairs leading to the hope hall after leaving the tunnel. Hope hall is an open area that invites nature to be a part of the hall, in contrast to the fear tunnel. People who experience the space are given a sense of hope by the semi-enclosing dome and wavy construction, which conjures a good and reassuring feeling and makes them feel connected to the wide surroundings.
